AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA APPROVING A ZONE CHANGE FOR PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 601 EAST EIGHTH STREET FROM C-3
(GENERAL COMMERCIAL) TO R-3c (MULTIFAMILY
RESIDENTIAL) - ZONE CHANGE CASE NO. Z-249
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa does
hereby find, determine and declare that:
A. This zone change was initiated by the City
of Azusa for a change of zone of the subject
property from C-3 (general commercial) to R-3c
(multifamily residential) . The subject property
is generally described as 601 East Eighth Street,
Azusa, California, and is legally described as
Parcel 1 of Parcel Map 17258, Map of Azusa, and
as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A. "
B. The change and amendment to the zoning ordinance
set forth below for the subject property was duly
initiated, and notice of public hearings thereon
were duly given and published in accordance with
applicable law.
C. Public hearings thereon were duly held by the
Planning Commission of the City of Azusa on June 4,
1986, and by the City Council of the City of Azusa
on July 7, 1986.
D. On June 4, 1986, the Planning Commission of
the City of Azusa by Resolution No. 2325 recommended
to the City Council that the zone change classifi-
cation proposed to be adopted for the subject
property be denied.
E. Thereafter, the applicant filed a notice of
appeal of the Planning Commission' s decision with
the City Clerk within the time required by law.
F. The City Council has considered all of the
information presented to it at the public hearing
held on July 7 , 1986, and finds, determines and
declares that the public necessity, convenience,
general welfare and good zoning practice require
that the zone text amendment and zone change set
forth in this ordinance be made.
G. The City Council further finds, determines and
declares that the zone text amendment and zone change
for the subject property is consistent with the
General Plan of the City of Azusa and the elements
thereof.
H. In taking this action the City Council considered
the effects of the decision on the housing needs of
the region in which the City is located and balanced
those needs against the public service needs of
the City residents and available fiscal and
environmental resources.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of
Section 19. 06. 010 of the Azusa Municipal Code and the zoning
map referred to therein, the subject property described in this
ordinance is hereby placed in the R-3c (multifamily residential)
zone.
SECTION 3 . Upon the effective date of this ordinance,
the Director of Community Development shall revise the original
zoning map of the City of Azusa to reflect the change in the
zoning of the subject property.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in
the manner required by law.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2319
was regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading
at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of
July , 1986. That thereafter said Ordinance was duly
adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 21st day of July , 1986, by the following vote,
to wit:
