AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTIONS 2. 16 .020
AND 2.16.030 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE
INCREASING THE NUMBER OF PARK AND
RECREATION COMMISSIONERS TO SEVEN AND
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF ONE
COMMISSIONER TO REVIEW EACH PARK WITHIN
THE CITY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.16.020 of the Azusa Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.16.020 Appointment.
The Park and Recreation Commission shall consist of
seven (7) members each appointed for a three ( 3)
year term of office. Five ( 5) members shall be
appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the
City Council pursuant to Section 2 .04 .050 . The
Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, shall
appoint two ( 2) members recommended by the
governing board of the Azusa Unified School
District. The Mayor , with the approval of the City
Council, shall assign a commissioner to review and
monitor each park within the City and to regularly
report to the Commission on the needs of the
park. Members of which the Mayor has appointing
authority may be removed from office pursuant to
Section 2. 04.050 . All members of the Commission
shall be appointed for a term expiring on June 30th
of the appropriate year and shall serve for the
term provided herein until their successors are
appointed. "
SECTION 2. Section 2.16. 030 of the Azusa Municipal
Code shall be amended to read as follows:
"2.16. 030. Terms.
Members of the Commission serving on the date
Ordinance No. 2408 becomes effective shall serve
the remainder of their terms and their successors
shall be appointed as provided in Section
2. 16. 020 . Of the two ( 2) new members to be
appointed pursuant to the amendment to Section
2. 16. 020 made by Ordinance No. 2408 , one (1)
shall be appointed to serve a term expiring on June
30, 1990 and the other for a term to expire on June
30, 1991. Thereafter, all members shall be
appointed to serve a term of three (3) years. "
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be
published in the manner required by law.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2408
was regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading
at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of
August , 1989 . That thereafter , said Ordinance was
duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 21st day of August , 1989, by the
following vote, to wit:
