AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA ADDING SECTION 19.48.055 TO
THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
DRIVEWAY APPROACHES ON RESIDENTIAL
PROPERTY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby find, determine and declare that:
A. On February 14, 1990, the Planning Commission
of the City of Azusa held a duly noticed public
hearing on the proposed addition of Section
19.48.055 to the Azusa Municipal Code relating to
driveway approaches in residential areas. The
Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 90-28
recommending to the City Council that Section
19.48.055 be added to the Azusa Municipal Code as
Code Amendment No. 167.
B. On March 19, 1990, the City Council of the
City of Azusa held a duly noticed public hearing to
consider Code Amendment No. 167 and the proposed
negative declaration. At that time, the Council
heard testimony from the staff and received
evidence concerning the merits of the proposed code
change.
SECTION 2. Section 19.48.055 is hereby added to the
Azusa Municipal Code to read as follows:
"19.48.055. Driveway Approaches
In RA, R-la, R-lb, R-lc, R-ld, R-2 and
R-3 zones, every driveway approach,
depressed curb or curb opening must lead
directly, via a driveway, to a permitted
covered parking structure. Houses
originally developed without permitted
covered parking structures shall be
permitted to have one driveway approach. "
SECTION 3 . The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published in the manner required by law.

I, CONSTANCE LARA, Deputy City Clerk of the
City of Azusa, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Ordinance No. 2443 was regularly introduced and placed
upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 16th day of April , 1990. That
thereafter, said Ordinance was duly adopted and pased at
a regular meeting of the City Council on the 21st day
of May , 1990, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: STEMRICH, NARANJO, MOSES
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSTAIN: COUNCILMEMBERS: DANGLEIS, ALEXANDER
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
