NO. 2166 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADDING CHAPTER 2.58 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE CONSISTING OF SECTIONS 2. 58. 010 AND 2. 58. 020, RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE POSITION OF CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND CITATION AUTHORITY FOR THAT POSITION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 2. 58, Code Enforcement Officer, is hereby added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read as follows: CHAPTER 2. 58 Code Enforcement Officer 2. 58. 010 Code Enforcement Officer. The position of Code Enforcement Officer is hereby created. 2. 58. 020 Peace Officer Status. The Code Enforcement Officer shall be designated as a Peace Officer whose duties in such capa- city shall be limited to the enforcement of Municipal Code violations, and such persons shall be authorized to make arrests only for the purpose of issuing citations for violations of the Municipal Code which con- stitute infractions or misdemeanors. The Code Enforcement Officer shall attain such certification and complete such training and qualifications as may be required by the Penal Code of the State of California. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be pub- lished as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of March , 1983.
