ORDINANCE NO. 2170
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTION 5.24 . 040 (a)
OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
BUSINESS LICENSE TAXES FOR MECHANICAL OR
ELECTRONIC GAMES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 5. 24 . 040 (a) of the Azusa Municipal
Code is hereby amended as follows:
"Section 5. 24 . 040 MECHANICAL OR ELECTRONIC GAMES.
(a) Every person engaged in the business of,
or who in conjunction with any other business,
houses or maintains mechanical or electronic
games, as defined in subsection (b) , shall pay an
annual business license tax of fifty-eight dollars
for each machine operated within the City, but in
no case shall the business license tax for mechanical
or electronic games exceed the sum of five hundred
dollars for any one year.
SECTION 2 . Section 5.24 . 040 (b) remains the same.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. The City Council finds
and declares that this Ordinance is one relating to taxes for the
usual and current expenses of the City and shall therefore take
effect immediately upon its passage.
SECTION 4 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.

I, ADOLPH SOLIS, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2170 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 18th day of April , 1983. That thereafter,
said Ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 2nd day of May , 1983, by the following
vote to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: DECKER, HART, CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
