HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 9, 1955 - CCO CITY HALL AZUSA, CALIF. THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 1955 The City Council of the C'ty of Azusa met in adjourned session at the above time and place. Roll Call: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, Johnson, Romero, b7emmesheimer City Attorney, City Engineer City Clerk The final approval of Tract Map #17624 was submitted for Council consideration. Because the status of the water stock to be delivered to the City cannot be de- termined at this time, it was moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Romero and unanimously carried that approval of -Tract Map #17624 be tabled until the status of the water stock be investigated. Firal approval of Tract Map #21315 was submitted for Council consideration. It was the opinion of the Council that approval of Tract Map #21315 be held up until clarification of the variance issued for this property. A Grant of Easement to the County Sanitation District No. 22 for right-of-way for sewer purposes of portion of lot, was considered. Councilman Fawcett offered the following Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 22 OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST SAME." Councilman Romero moved its adoption, seconded by Council- man Ortuno. This Resolution passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, Romero, Johnson, Memmesheimer NOES: None ABSENT: None and numbered Resolution #3226. A Grant of Easement to the County Sanitation District No. 22 for the right of way for sewer purposes over a portion of Lot 53, was considered. Councilman Ortuno offered the following Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, L0S ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 22 OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST SAME." Councilman Ortuno moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Romero. This Resolution passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, Johnson, Romero Memmesheimer NOES: None ABSENT: None and numbered Resolution No. 3227. City Attorney read the revised Agreement between the Azusa Foothill Ctirus Company and the City of Azusa for the construction of a sanitary sewer line within dedicated streets of Easterly Annexation District No. 5 (revised) and its own land. Councilman Ortuno offered the following Resolution entitled: 155 7:30 P.M. Roll Call Final approval of Tract Map #17624 - tabled. Final approval of Trac` Map #21315 - held up. Resolution No. 3226 - Grant of Easement to Count.= Sanitatior District #22 Resolution No. 3227 - Grant of Easement to County Sanitatior District, No. 22 156 CITY HALL AZUSA, CALIF. THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 1955 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE CONTRACT DATED JUNE 9, 1955, BETWEEN THE CITY OF AZUSA AND THE AZUSA FOOTHILL CITRUS COMPANY." Councilman Ortuno moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Fawcett, This Resolution passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, Johnson, Romero, Memmesheimer NOES: None ABSENT: None and numbered Resolution No. 3228 City Clerk.reouested permission to file a Notice of Completion for Project No. 121, work having been completed as of June o, 1955. Moved by Councilman Ortuno, seconded by Councilman Fawcett and unanimously carried that the Notice of Completion be tabled at this time. Mrs. Dunkle of 153 N. Cerritos Avenue appeared before Council and stated that an irrigation line had been cut into while laying a sewer connection from the house to the main line, stating that quantities of water had flooded over various peoples property in the neighborhood. It was recommended that this be referred to the City* Engineer for checking. The City Council met with A. Rulofson, Auditor, for their first meeting to consider the proposed budget. Councilman Fawcett, left the meeting at 9:50 P.M. It was decided by -the Council to hold the next Budget Meeting Wednesday, June 22nd, at 7:30 P.M. in the office of the City Clerk. 157 7:30 P.M. Resolution No. 3228 - Contract between City & Azusa Foothill Citrus Co. Notice of Com- pletion, Project #121 - tabled. Cut in irrigation line while layin€ sewer connection, Budget I-eeting The City Engineer stated to Council that the possibilities of a traffic signal being erected at First Street and Azusa Avenue is quite probable. Possibility of Moved by Councilman Romero, seconded by Councilman traffic signal Ortuno, that the City Attorney be instructed to draw a at First and Resolution with reference to the installation of the Azusa Ave. traffic signal at First and Azusa.
