HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2190 ORDINANCE NO. 2190 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 19 . 22. 080, 19 . 24 . 060, and 19. 26 . 040, AND BY ADDING 19. 24 . 070, 19. 26 .070, 19. 27 . 190, 19 . 50 . 070 (6) , 19 . 50 . 070 (7) , 19 . 50 . 080 (5) , 19 . 50 . 080 (6) , 19 . 50 . 081 and 19 . 50 . 082, RELATING TO SITE DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS AND SIGN REQUIREMENTS IN THE COMMERCIAL ZONES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 19 . 22 . 080 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 19. 22. 080 . LANDSCAPING AND ARCHITECTURE. A minimum of ten percent of land area for each site shall be landscaped with suitable plants, trees and ground cover. All new and remodeled commercial building shall comply with the following basic design critera: (1) All sides of a building visible from a public street or abutting or adjoining a residential district shall be designed, treated and finished in a manner compatible with the area and with the other visible sides of the building. (2) Not less than twenty percent of a building wall shall be treated and finished in a material contrasting to the remainder of that building wall. (3) All mechanical appurtenances (other than rain gutters and solar power collectors) shall be fully screened from public view. (4) All roof areas which provide concealment from the street shall be secured. All elevations and landscaping shall be approved by the Planning Commission prior to the issuance of a building permit. " SECTION 2. Section 19 . 24. 060 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 19 . 24 . 060 . YARD REQUIREMENTS. The required yards between the building and the lot line shall be at least ten feet. When the building is located on a corner, the required yards between the building and the lot lines shall be at least ten feet along both street frontages. There shall be a rear and side yard of not less than fifteen feet when a rear lot line is adjacent to an R Zone and there is no intervening alley. The required yard areas shall be landscaped, an irrigation system provided, and shall be maintained at all times. " -1- SECTION 3 . Section 19 . 26 . 040 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 19 . 26. 040 . YARD REQUIREMENTS. The required yards between the building and the lot line shall be at ten feet. Section 19. 50. 070 (6) of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19 . 50 . 070 (6) . Roof mounted signs are prohibited. " SECTION 8 . Section 19 . 50 . 070 (7) of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19 . 50 . 070 (7). Window signs are permitted, provided that the total area of all signs displayed in any one window shall not cover more than ten percent of the total window area. " SECTION 9 . Section 19 . 50. 080 (5) of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19 . 50 . 080 (5) . Roof mounted signs are prohibited. " SECTION 10 . Section 19. 50 . 080 (6) of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19 . 50 . 080 (6) . Window signs are permitted, provided that the total area of all signs displayed in any one window shall not cover more than ten percent of the total window area. " SECTION 11. Section 19 . 50 . 081 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19 . 50. 081. F-S ZONES . In the F-S Zone all signs permitted in the C-2 Zone are allows. " SECTION 12 . Section 19 . 50 . 082 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19 . 50. 082 CBD ZONES. In the CBD Zone all signs permitted in the C-2 Zone are allows. " SECTION 13 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of November, 1983. 4/1414.
