ORDINANCE NO. 2189
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE AZUSA
MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 19 BY ADDING SECTIONS
19.04.615 AND 19.40.140 RELATING TO POLITICAL
CAMPAIGN SIGN REGULATIONS
THE CITY COUNDIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Title 19 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding the following sections:
19.04.615 "Political Campaign Sign" means a temporary
sign displayed during an election period which advertizes
a political candidate or issue.
19.50.140 Political Campaign Sign Requirements shall be
as follows:
(1 ) Location: Political campaign signs may be located on
private property. A maximum of one such sign per parcel
shall be permitted. Under no circumstances may such
signs be located on publically owned property nor placed
in or on any public right-of-way. Roof-mounted signs
are prohibited.
(2) Size: The maximum area of the sign shall not exceed
six (6) square feet.
(3) Height: The maximum height of the sign shall not exceed ,
four (4) feet from the base of said sign.
(4) When Permitted: Signs may be displayed for a period not
exceeding fourty-five (45) days prior to the election and
removed within five (5) days after the election.
(5) Sign on Unoccupied Parcels: Political Campaign signs
located on unoccupied parcels shall require a Temporary
Sign Permit. An affidavit assuring removal of all signs
shall be signed by each candidate or authorized representative.
(6) Violations: A violation of any section of this code
shall be subject to citation and a fine of $50.00 for each
violation.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.

I, ADOPLH SOLIS, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2189 was regularly introduced and
placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on the
19th day of September ,1983. That, thereafter, said Ordinance was
duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 3rd
day of October ,1983, by the following vote to wit:
