INFORMATION ITEM TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF T ZUSA UTILITY BOARD FROM: GEORGE F. MORROW, DIRECTOR OF UTILITIE DATE: JUNE 22, 2015 SUBJECT: RENEWABLE PORTFOLIO STANDARD REPORT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2014 In accordance with requirements of California's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), as contained in Senate Bill X1 2 (SBXI 2) and corresponding CEC regulations, all Publicly Owned Utilities (POU) must prepare an annual RPS compliance report. The report must document renewable energy resources procurement status and future renewable energy procurement plans. The report needs to be submitted in a CEC prescribed format. Accordingly, attached is Azusa Light& Water's report for calendar year 2014. As shown in the reports, Azusa has met the targeted combined 20% procurement/carryover of renewable energy products in 2014. The renewable products used for compliance are of the three following categories: 1. Energy produced/procured in 2014 from "grandfathered" contracts — i.e. renewable energy procured under contracts executed before June 1, 2010 and still in effect; and 2. Historic carryover(HCO) energy—i.e. procurement of renewable energy during the years 2004 — 2010 under contracts executed before January 1, 2011 (subject to certain CEC formula derived limitations); and 3. Columbia II project— a newly operational solar PV project in which Azusa has 1.3 MW interest. To meet its future SBX1 2 and associated regulatory compliance obligations, Azusa entered into two long term power purchase agreements through SCPPA in 2014 (as approved by the Utility Board): 1. A 20 year 1.0 MW contract from an existing landfill gas powered facility operated by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (Puente Hills). Expected annual energy delivery is about 7,860 MWH in the first contract year (2017) declining to 3,460 MWH in the last contract year(2030).
