AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA PREZONING A CERTAIN UNINCOR-
PORATED AREA OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOUNDED
BY LARK ELLEN AVENUE, ARROW HIGHWAY, AZUSA
AVENUE, GLADSTONE STREET AND THE AZUSA CITY
LIMITS UPON ANNEXATION (ZONE CHANGE CASE
NO. Z-233)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby find, determine and declare that:
A. The prezoning of the subject area consist-
ing of approximately 77 . 5 acres and bounded
generally by Lark Ellen Avenue, Arrow Highway,
Azusa Avenue, Gladstone Street and the Azusa
City Limits, and more particularly described
in the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
which is incorporated herein as though set
forth in full, was initiated by the City Council
of the City of Azusa in order to properly deter-
mine the zoning in which the currently unincor-
porated area within the sphere of influence of
the City of Azusa would have in the event of
annexation by the City of Azusa;
B. The change and amendment to the zoning
ordinance set forth below prezoning the subject
area was duly initiated, notice of public hear-
ing thereon was duly given and published in
accordance with applicable law;
C. Public hearings thereon were duly held by
the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa
on August 22, 1984 and by the City Council of
the City of Azusa on September 17 , 1984;
D. On August 22 , 1984 , the Planning Commission
of the City of Azusa by Resolution No. 2054
recommended to the City Council that the zone
change classification proposed be adopted upon
annexation of the subject area;
E. The City Council has considered all of the
information presented to it at the public hear-
ing held on September 17, 1984 and determined
that the public necessity, convenience, general
welfare and good zoning practice require that
the following amendment and zone change be made
conditioned upon approval of the annexation of
the subject area to the City of Azusa;
F. In taking this action the City Council con-
sidered the effects of the decision on the
housing needs of the region in which the City
is located and balanced those needs against
the public service needs of the City residents
and available fiscal and environmental resources .
SECTION 2 . Notwithstanding the provisions of
Section 19. 06. 010 of the Azusa Municipal Code and the Zoning
Map referred to therein, the property described on the map
attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein as though
set forth in full, are hereby placed in and included in the
zones shown on said Exhibit "A" upon the effective date of
the annexation or partial annexation to the City of Azusa of
any of the said properties.
SECTION 3 . Upon the effective date of the annexation
or any partial annexation of the subject properties set forth
in said exhibit, the Director of Community Development shall
revise the official zoning map of the City of Azusa to reflect
the changes in zone of the premises described therein.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.

I, ADOLPH SOLIS, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2240 was
regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 1st day of October ,
1984. That thereafter, said Ordinance was duly adopted and
passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 15th day
of October , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
