HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2222 ORDINANCE NO. 2222 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADDING SECTION 19 . 48 .110 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO COMPACT CAR PARKING (ZONING CODE AMENDMENT NO. 142) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby find, determine and declare that: A. The proposed zoning ordinance amendment No. 142 was the subject of public hearings before the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa on March 7, 1984 , and the City Council of the City of Azusa on April 2 , 1984 , which hearings were duly noticed and held in accordance with applica- ble laws. B. The public necessity, convenience, and general welfare and good zoning practice require that the subject amendment be made. C. In taking this action the City Council considered the effects of the adoption of this ordinance on the housing needs of the region in which the City is located and balanced these needs against the public service needs of the city residents and available fiscal and financial resources, and further finds that the ordinance does 'not limit the number of housing units which may be constructed on an annual basis within the City. SECTION 2 . Section 19 . 48 .110 is hereby added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read as follows: "19 . 48 . 110 COMPACT CAR PARKING. Compact car parking shall be allowed up to twenty-five percent (25%) of all required parking spaces, except in residential garages, with a minimum stall size of 8 ft. by 17 ft. provided that said compact car parking shall be located on one side of aisle only. " SECTION 3 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
