HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2219 ORDINANCE NO. 2219 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (A) , (B) , (C) , (D) , (P) AND (DD) OF SECTION 19 . 26 . 020 (2) OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO AUTOMOBILE RELATED USES IN THE C-3 ZONE (GENERAL COMMERCIAL) AND ADDING SECTION 19 . 26 . 070 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO OUTDOOR STORAGE IN THE C-3 ZONE (GENERAL COMMERCIAL) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Subsections (A) , (B) , (C) , (D) , (P) and (DD) of Section 19 . 26. 020 (2) of the Azusa Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: "19 . 26 . 020 PERMITTED USES. The following uses are permitted: (2) . . . (A) Automobile body and fender shops and auto painting may be permitted after a public hearing in each case, under a Conditional Use Permit ob- tained in accordance with procedures stated in Chapter 19 . 60 . All repair and maintenance activities are pro- hibited unless conducted within a com- pletely enclosed building. (B) Automobile sales may be permitted after a public hearing, in each case, under a Conditional Use Permit ob- tained in accordance with procedures stated in Chapter 19 . 60. All repair and maintenance activities are prohi- bited unless conducted within a com- pletely enclosed building. (C) Automobile trailer sales may be permitted after a public hearing, in each case, under a Conditional Use Permit obtained in accordance with procedures stated in Chapter 19 . 60. All repairs, reconditioning, or painting of trailers are prohibited unless conducted within a completely enclosed building. (D) Auto repair shops may be permitted after a public hearing, in each case, under a Conditional Use Permit obtained in accordance with procedures stated in Chapter 19 . 60 . All repair and maintenance activities are prohibited unless conducted within a completely enclosed building. (P) Muffler shops may be permitted after a public hearing, in each case, under a Conditional Use Permit ob- tained in accordance with procedures stated in Chapter 19 . 60. All repair and maintenance activities are pro- hibited unless conducted within a completely enclosed building. (DD) Used car sales may be permitted, after a public hearing, in each case, under a Conditional Use Permit ob- tained in accordance with procedures stated in Chapter 19 . 60. No repair or reconditioning of automobiles shall be permitted except when con- ducted within a completely enclosed building. . . . ' SECTION 2. Section 19 . 26 . 070 is hereby added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read as follows: "19. 26 . 070 OUTDOOR STORAGE. Outdoor storage shall be permitted only in areas completely screened from view by either a six-foot high block wall or a chain link fence with slats. " SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby find and determine that: A. On January 18, 1984, the Planning Commis- sion of the City of Azusa held a duly-noticed public hearing on this proposed code amendment, and after receiving and considering testimony on the amendment, recommended its adoption pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution No. 1985 . B. On February 21, 1984 , the City Council of the City of Azusa held a duly-noticed public hearing on the proposed amendment at which time the Council heard testimony from the public concerning the amendment and considered the information received. C. In adopting this zoning ordinance amendment the City Council considered the effects of the decision on the housing needs of the region in which the city is located and balanced these needs against the public service needs of the city residents and available fiscal and environ- mental resources. SECTION 4 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 19th day of March , 1984 .
