AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA PREZONING THE UNINCORPORATED
AREA OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOUNDED BY
BASELINE ROAD, BARRANCA AVENUE, HOLLYVALE
STREET, CALERA AVENUE, MAUNALOA AVENUE,
CITRUS AVENUE, AND AZUSA CITY LIMITS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of
Azusa does hereby find, determine and declare that:
A. The prezoning of the subject area generally
bounded by Baseline Road, Barranca Avenue,
Hollyvale Street, Calera Avenue, Maunaloa
Avenue, Citrus Avenue, and Azusa City Limits
and more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated herein, was
initiated by the City Council of the City of
Azusa in order to properly determine the zoning
which the currently unincorporated area within
the sphere of influence of the City of Azusa
would have in the event of annexation by the
City of Azusa.
B. The change and amendment to the Zoning Ordi-
nance set forth below prezoning the subject area
was duly initiated , notice of public hearing
thereon was duly given and published in accord-
ance with applicable law;
C. Public hearings thereon were duly held by
the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa
on February 20, 1985, and by the City Council of
the City of Azusa on April 1 , 1985;
D. On February 20, 1985, the Planning Commission
of the City of Azusa by Resolution No. 2127
recommended to the City Council that the zone
change classification proposed be adopted upon
annexation of the subject area;
E. The City Council has considered all of the
information presented to it at the public
hearing held on April 1 , 1985, and determines
that the public necessity, convenience, general
welfare and good zoning practice require that
the following amendment and zone change be made
conditioned upon the approval of the annexation
of the subject area of the City of Azusa;
F. In taking this action the City Council con-
sidered the effects of the decision on the housing
needs of the region in which the City is located
and balanced those needs against the public
service needs of the City residents and available
fiscal and environmental resources ;
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of
Section 19. 06. 010 of the Azusa Municipal Code and the
zoning map referred to therein, the subject properties
described herein are hereby placed in and included in the
Rlc ( single family) residential zone.
SECTION 3. Upon the effective date of this
ordinance the Director of Community Development shall revise
the official zoning map of the City of Azusa to reflect the
changes in zone of the premises described herein.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published as required by law.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2261
was regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 1st day of April ►
1985 . That thereafter, said Ordinance was duly adopted and
passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 15th day
of April , 198 5 , by the following vote, to wit:
