AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA REPEALING SECTIONS 10. 020. 080 AND
10. 12. 040 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE AND
AMENDING SECTIONS 10 . 12. 050 AND 10. 020. 070
OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO DOG
LICENSES AND ANIMAL REGULATION FEES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 10. 020. 080 of the Azusa Municipal
Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. Section 10. 12. 040 of the Azusa Municipal
Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. Section 10. 12. 050 of the Azusa Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
10. 12. 050 Renewals. Dog licenses shall be
renewed and the fees due and payable on
July 1 of each year and must be paid prior
to August 1 of each year. After July 31 of
each year, a penalty shall be charged and
collected in addition to the license fees
collected upon the issuance of a renewal
license. A penalty fee shall be charged
for the issuance of an original license if
not applied for within thirty days after
the dog is brought within the city limits,
or comes into the possession of the owner.
All such dogs shall be vaccinated or re-
vaccinated as provided for in this ordinance.
All renewals of dog licenses shall be paid
for at the rate for the full year. In
computing the cost of license fees for any dog
acquired by its owner or possessor after the
31st day of December of any fiscal year, or
brought into the city of Azusa after aforesaid
date, then one-half of the regular license fee
shall be paid for the remainder of the fiscal
year.
SECTION 4 . Section 10. 020 . 070 of the Azusa Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows :
10. 020 . 070 Fees - Animals Generally.
A. No dog, impounded as a stray or as a
dog running at large, or as a dog impounded
pursuant to the provisions of this chapter,
that has bitten a human being and is im-
pounded for observation and test, whether
licensed or not, may be redeemed except
upon payment to the Chief of Police,
poundmaster, or humane officer fees for
the following services:
1. Impounding dog;
2. Feeding dog, charged per day or
portion of day during which dog
shall have been impounded;
3. Posting notices, charged per
notification or notice posted.
B. Charges shall be made to the owner of
dogs or other animals for the disposition
thereof.
C. The rates charged will be established
by, and may be changed by action of, the
City Council by resolution duly adopted.
D. Any and all monies collected under the
provisions of this chapter shall be turned
in to the City Treasurer for deposit in the
general fund.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause same to be published
as required by law.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2281 was
regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 19th day of August ,
1985. That thereafter said ordinance was duly adopted and
passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 3rd
day of September , 1985, by the following vote, to wit:
