AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF PUBLIC FUNDS
FOR THE REMOVAL OF GRAFFITI ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE
PROPERTY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A new Chapter 8.54 consisting of Section
8.54 . 010 is hereby added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read as
follows:
"8. 54. 010. Graffiti Removal. Public funds
may be used by the City for removal of
graffiti or other inscribed material from
public or privately owned permanent structures
located on public or privately owned real
property within the City. Only the removal
of the graffiti or other inscribed material is
authorized, and not the painting or repair of
a more extensive area. Such removal may be
performed after the Director of Public Works
makes a finding that the graffiti or other
inscribed material is obnoxious , and, in the case
of a publically owned structure, after securing
the consent of the public entity having
jurisdiction over the structure, and in the case
of a privately owned structure, after securing
the consent of the owner of said privately owned
structure. "
SECTION 2. This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to
the authority contained in Section 53069. 3 of the California
Government Code.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
as required by law.

I, ADOLPH SOLIS, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 2054 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 1st day of May , 1978. That,
thereafter, said Ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 15thday of May
1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses , Solem
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
