HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2000 ORDINANCE NO. 2000 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF AZUSA CERTAIN TERRITORY OUTSIDE THE SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO, KNOWN AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 78 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. WHEREAS, on the 26th day of March, 1975 the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles approved the annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory described in Section 1 hereof and authorized the City to proceed with the annexation without notice, hearing and election pursuant to Section 54797. 1 of the Government Code, and WHEREAS, the territory described in Section 1 hereof consists solely of public highways and streets, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa has determined that the annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory described in Section 1 hereof is in the best interest of the City and the owners of said territory; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The annexation to the City of Azusa of the terri- tory hereinafter described, the boundary description of which has been approved by the County Engineer of the County of Los Angeles and the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles, and which territory was designated in the resolution of the Local Agency Forma- tion Commission as "Southerly Annexation District No. 78 to the City of Azusa", be and the same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Azusa, to wit: All that real property situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of Cerritos Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on Map of Subdivision No. 1 of lands of Azusa Land & Water Co. recorded in Book 16, pages 17 and 18 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles and the center line of First Street, 80 feet wide, as shown on said map, said intersection being an angle point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on January 20, 1975; thence easterly along said boundary and following the same in all its various courses and curve to a point in the westerly line of Lot 63 of Tract No. 17939 as shown on map filed in Book 551, pages 14 , 15 and 16 of Maps, in the office of said recorder, said point being distant 20. 00 feet southerly, measured along said westerly line, from the northwesterly corner of said lot; thence South 0° 06 ' 46" West along the easterly line of Citrus Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on said last mentioned map and said boundary a distance of 507. 28 feet; thence N 89° 53 ' 14" W, 80. 00 feet to a point in the southerly boundary of the 210 Freeway as shown on right of way Map Nos. F-1230-7, F-1230-8 and F-1230-9 on file in the Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, State of California, said last mentioned point being in the easterly line of Lot 156 of Tract No. 20494 as shown on map filed in Book 541, pages 37 through 43 of said Maps, distant N 0° 06' 46" E along said last mentioned easterly line 2. 56 feet from the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned lot; thence along said southerly boundary the following described courses: northwesterly along a curve concave to the southwest tangent to the westerly line of said Citrus Avenue having a radius of 25 feet through a central angle of 90° 02' 00" a distance of 39. 27 feet, N 89° 55' 14" W tangent to said curve a distance of 118. 87 feet, northwesterly along a tangent curve concave to the northeast having a radius of 350 feet through a central angle of 37° 58 ' 43" a distance of 232. 00 feet, N 51° 56' 31" W tangent to said last mentioned curve a distance of 185. 05 feet, northwesterly along a tangent curve concave to the southwest having a radius of 400 feet through a central angle of 27° 38 ' 59" a distance of 193. 03 feet, N 79° 35' 30" W tangent to said last mentioned curve a distance of 163. 11 feet, N 83° 23' 23" W 443 . 62 feet, N 88° 21' 59" W 337. 68 feet, N 89° 25 ' 26" W 190. 82 feet, N 64° 54 ' 12" W 28. 14 feet, N 89° 54 ' 28" W 9. 00 feet, S 61° 54 ' 31" W 28. 93 feet, N 89° 54 ' 28" W 206. 54 feet, northwesterly along a nontangent curve concave to the southwest having a radius of 56 feet through a central angle of 82° 48 ' 53" a distance of 80. 94 feet a radial of said last mentioned curve to the beginning thereof bears N 82° 54 ' 03" E, N 89° 54 ' 50" W tangent to said last mentioned curve a distance of 228. 16 feet and S 89° 08 ' 26" W 328. 31 feet; thence leaving said southerly boundary N 89° 57 ' 14" W, 27. 50 feet to said easterly line of Cerritos Avenue; thence N 0° 05' 26" E 292. 03 feet along said boundary of the City of Azusa to the point of beginning. Said territory shall be designated as "Southerly Annexation District No. 78 to the City of Azusa" . SECTION 2. The territory hereby annexed to the City of Azusa shall be part of the City for all purposes from the date of filing with the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles of the affidavit of completion of the annexation proceedings provided for in Sections 34080 and 34081 of the Government Code. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of California and after such certified copy has been so filed and the Certificate of the Secretary of State certifying to its filing has been received by the City of Azusa, the City Clerk shall file with the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles the affidavit and documents required by Sections 34080 and 34081 of the Government Code and shall file a certified copy of the map and boundary description of the annexed territory with the County Engineer and the County Assessor of the County of Los Angeles and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California and the Census Bureau of the United States government.
