HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 1083 ORDINANCE NO. 1083 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF AZUSA CER- TAIN TERRITORY OUTSIDE THE SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO, KNOWN AS "EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 76 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA" . WHEREAS, on the 10th day of July, 1974, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles approved the annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory described in Section 1 hereof and authorized the City to proceed with the annexation without notice, hearing and election pursuant to Section 54797.1 of the Government Code, and WHEREAS, the owners of the land within the territory described in Section 1 hereof have filed with the City Clerk their consent in writing to such annexation, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa has determined that the annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory described in Section 1 hereof is in the best interest of the City and the owners of said territory; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory hereinafter described, the boundary description of which has been approved by the County Engineer of the County of Los Angeles and the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles, and which territory was designated in the resolution of the Local Agency Formation Commission as "Easterly Annexation District No. 76 to the City of Azusa", be and the same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Azusa, to wit : Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of the southerly 33.50 feet of Lot 12 of Tract No. 3472 as shown on map filed in Book 42, pages 11 and 12 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles and the westerly line of said lot, said intersection being a point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on May 22, 1974; thence northerly along said westerly line to a line parallel with and 450 feet northerly, measured at right angles, from the center line of Alosta Avenue as shown on said map; thence easterly along said parallel line to the easterly line of Ben Lomond Avenue, -0 feet wide, (now known as Barranca Avenue ) as shown on said map; thence southerly along said easterly line to the easterly prolongation of said notherly line; thence westerly along said prolongation and continuing westerly along said boundary to the point of beginning. Said territory shall be designated as "Easterly Annexation District No. 76 to the City of Azusa" . SECTION 2. The territory hereby annexed to the City of Azusa shall be part of the City for all purposes from the date of filing with the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles of the affidavit of completion of the annexation proceedings provided for in Sections 34080 and 34081 of the Government Code . SECTION 3. Resolution No. 6232 relating to the annexation of the territory described in Section 1 hereof is hereby rescinded and repealed. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law . Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of California and after such certified copy has been so filed and the Certificate of the Secretary of State certifying to its filing has been received by the City of Azusa, the City Clerk shall file with the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles the affidavit and documents required by Sections 34080 and 34081 of the Government Code and shall file a certified copy of the map and boundary description of the annexed territory with the County Engineer and the County Assessor of the County of Los Angeles and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California and the Census Bureau of the United States government. SOLIS, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No.1083 was regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 19th day of August , 1974.
