HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 1056 ORDINANCE NO. 1056 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ADDING SECTIONS 8.52.134 AND 8.52.135 TO, AND AMENDING SECTION 8.52.133 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO UNLAWFUL CONDUCT. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. Section 8.52.134 is added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read: "8.52.134. SALE OF PRESSURIZED CANS CONTAINING PAINT TO MINORS . It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, exchange, give or loan, or cause or permit to be sold, exchanged given or loaned, any pressurized can containing any substance commonly known as paint to any minor person under the age of eighteen years, unless such person has in his possession at the time of such sale, ex- change, gift or loan, a written request therefor signed by a parent or the guardian of the minor. The person making any such sale, exchange, gift or loan shall re- tain possession of the written request signed by the parent or guardian for a period of at least thirty days and during that time shall present the same to any peace officer upon his request. " SECTION 2. Section 8.52.135 is added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read: "8.52.135. POSSESSION OF PRESSURIZED CANS CONTAINING PAINT BY MINORS PROHIBITED DURING CERTAIN HOURS. Between the hours of 8 P.M. and 8 A.M. it shall be unlawful for any minor person under the age of eighteen to have in his possession any pressurized can contain- ing any substance commonly known as paint while upon any public highway, street, alley, way, park, playground, swimming pool or public place, whether such minor is or is not in any automobile, vehicle or other conveyance . The provisions of this Section shall not apply to any minor person under the age of eighteen who is accompanied by a parent or his guardian. " SECTION 3. Section 8.52.133 of the Azusa Municipal Code is amended to read: "8.52.133. SAME. ANNOYANCE TO OTHERS. No person in an intoxicated condition shall wilfully appear, remain, or be in or on any place open to public view or in any store, railway, or bus depot, stadium, or other place which the public is admitted or invited to the annoyance of any other person. " SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. Passed and approved this 21st day of May , 1973.
