Subject: Trees along Foothill Blvd.
Park Superintendent , DeLoach presented a proposal for
tree designation for the westerly half of Area 1 at the
January 3 , 1985 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
This area has a preponderance of the trees listed and
approval of the list will formalize the .official designation.
• Members approved the list exclusive of Items 3 , 13 & 14.
Item 3 - Azusa Ave. is presently designated with the
Photenia Fraseri and is less, maintenance then the
• proposed Ficus .
•
Item 13 - Foothill Blvd. from Angeleno to_ Todd - is
designated .with the Photenia. -
Item 14 -- Alosta ' is designated with the Liquid Amber.
•
In October, 1980 when the street improvements were completed
the Parks and Recreation Commission elected to establish an
alternating planting scene of Photenia Fraseri and Tristania.
• These trees are just beginning to establish themselves and are
giving the Boulevard a very pleasing look. : The Ficus require
extensive maintenance, trimming and spraying, therefore, not,
desirable. It is the • Commission'srecompendation that this
. designation: not be changed,
