In addition, the following nine water bills have been introduced that would revise the 2014 water
bond on the ballot. California voters have not passed a water bond since 2006. The water bond
ballot item passed by the Legislature in 2009 has been postponed twice. At the same time, the
drought and effects of climate change faced by the State threatens access to clean, affordable, and
reliable sources of water for residents and the industry.
