BACKGROUND At the recent Contract Cities conference, it was brought to the City's attention that the EIR/EIS for the 710 freeway completion is being reviewed. As such,the City of Alhambra has requested that the City of Azusa consider a resolution supporting the completion of the 710 freeway. Because the 710 freeway is major north-south link in the Los Angeles County transportation network and completion of the 4.5 mile gap in the corridor is critical to easing traffic congestion in the San Gabriel Valley,staff recommends approval of the attached resolution supporting the completion of the 710 freeway. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact associated with adopting this resolution. Attachment: Resolution RESOLUTION NO. 13-C37 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA SUPPORTING THE COMPLETION OF THE 710 FREEWAY WHEREAS, the 710 Freeway serves as a major north-south link in the Los Angeles County transportation network; and WHEREAS, over the past forty (40)plus years, alternatives have been proposed and evaluated to complete the 710 Freeway and close the 4.5 mile gap in the corridor. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Council supports the completion of the 710 freeway. PASSED,APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3'd day of June, 2013 By: Joseph R.
