TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
FROM: TITO HAES, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
VIA: JAMES MAKSHANOFF, CITY MANAGER
DATE: JUNE 3, 2013
SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE COMPLETION OF THE 710 FREEWAY
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve a resolution supporting the completion of the 710 freeway.
BACKGROUND
At the recent Contract Cities conference, it was brought to the City's attention that the EIR/EIS for the 710
freeway completion is being reviewed. As such, the City of Alhambra has requested that the City of Azusa
consider a resolution supporting the completion of the 710 freeway.
Because the 710 freeway is major north-south link in the Los Angeles County transportation network and
completion of the 4.5 mile gap in the corridor is critical to easing traffic congestion in the San Gabriel
Valley, staff recommends approval of the attached resolution supporting the completion of the 710 freeway.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with adopting this resolution.
