SUBJECT: FINAL REPORT/RECOMMENDATIONS AND REQUEST FOR
APPROVAL FROM THE HATE CRIME TASK FORCE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve, adopt and fund the recommendations
for a permanent Human Relations Commission and other programs as outlined in the
attached report.
BACKGROUND
At the October 2, 2000 City Council Meeting, the Council authorized the formation of a
Hate Crime Task Force. The charter of this task force was to examine and recommend
what Azusa must do to become a model city in its race relations. The task force was
asked to present their report and recommendations in six (6) months.
FISCAL IMPACT
This action will require a minimum $5000.00 expenditure in its initial stages. Further
fiscal impact is unknown and will be determined and submitted by the permanent
Human Relations Commission for subsequent budgets.
