AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO, INCORPORATING
IN, AND MAKING A PART OF SAID CITY OF AZUSA, CER-
TAIN TERRITORY OUTSIDE THE SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS
THERETO, KNOWN AS "EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO.
73 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA",
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of August, 1972, the Local
Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles approved the
annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory described in Section 1
hereof and authorized the City to proceed with the annexation without
notice, hearing and election pursuant to Section 54797.1 of the Govern-
ment Code, and
WHEREAS, the owners of the land within the territory
described in Section 1 hereof has filed with the City Clerk their consent
in writing to such annexation, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa has
determined that the annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory des-
cribed in Section 1 hereof is in the best interest of the City and the
owners of said territory;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa
does ordain as follows :
SECTION 1. The annexation to the City of Azusa of the
territory hereinafter described, the boundary description of which has been
approved by the County Engineer of the County of Los Angeles and the Local
Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles, and which terr-
itory was designated in the resolution of the Local Agency Commission as
"Easterly Annexation District No. 73 to the City of Azusa", be and the same
is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Azusa,
to wit :
Those portions of Sections 35 and 36, Township 1 North,
Range 10 West, S .B.M., in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly right-
of-way line of Alosta Avenue 100.00 feet wide, as shown
on County Surveyor' s Filed Map No. 10292, on file in the
office of the County Engineer of said county and the
westerly line of the easterly 20 feet of the west half
of said Section 36; thence southerly along said westerly
line 100.00 feet to the southerly right-of-way line of
Alosta Avenue 100 feet wide, as shown on said map; thence
South 89° 47 ' 15" West along said southerly right-of-way
line to the easterly line of the northwest quarter of the
northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of said Section
36; thence South 0° o3 ' 06" West 612.00 feet along last
said easterly line to the southeast corner of said north-
west quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest
quarter of Section 36, said southeast corner being the
northeast corner of Tract No. 16384, as per map filed in
Book 536, Pages 49 and 50 of Maps, in the office of the
Recorder of said county; thence South 89° /18' 05" West
686.45 feet along the southerly line of said northwest
quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter
of Section 36 and its westerly prolongation to a point
in a line which is parallel with and distant 25.00 feet,
measured at right angles, westerly of the center line
of Citrus Avenue as said center line is shown on map of
Tract No. 20495, filed in Book 556, pages 39 to 2 )-1-
inclusive
4inclusive of said Maps; thence northerly along said
parallel line 933 feet more or less to an angle point
in the northerly city boundary line of the City of
Azusa, said angle point being the northeasterly
corner of "Easterly Annexation District No. 70"
to the City of Azusa filed with the Secretary of
State of the State of California on November 21,
1968; thence easterly along a line which bears at
right angles to the center line of said Citrus
Avenue to a point in the easterly right-of-,qay line
of Citrus Avenue, said easterly right-of-way line
being the easterly line of the most westerly 23.50
feet of Lot 10 of Tract No. 3)72, as per map filed
in Book 42, pages 11 and 12 of said Maps; thence
southerly along said easterly right-of-way line to
a point distant northerly thereon 17.00 feet from
said northerly right-oi=vway line of Alosta Avenue;
thence southeasterly in a direct line to a point in
said last mentioned northerly right-of-way line
distant easterly thereon 17.00 feet from said easterly
right-of-way line; thence easterly along said northerly
right-of-way line of Alosta Avenue to the point of
beginning.
Said territory shall be designated as "Easterly Annexation District No.
73 to the City of Azusa" .
SECTION 2 . The territory hereby annexed to the City
of Azusa shall be part of the City for all purposes from the date of filing
with the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles of the affidavit of
the completion of the annexation proceedings provided for in Section 34080
and 34081 of the Government Code .
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
lay . Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk shall file
a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of
California and after- such certified copy has been so filed and the Certif-
icate of the Secretary of State certifying to its filing_ has been received by
the City of Azusa, the City Clerk shall file with the County Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles the affidavit and documents required by Sections
34080 and 34081 of the Government Code and shall file a certified copy of
the map and boundary description of the annexed territory with the County
Engineer and the County Assessor of the County of Los Angeles and with the
State Board of Equalization of the State of California and the Census
Bureau of the United States government.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 1044 was regularly intro-
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 5th day of September , 1972. That, thereafter, said ordinance
was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the
18th day of September , 1972, by the following vote, to wit :
AYES : Councilmen: Decker, Snyder, Clark, Solem
NOES : Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen Rubio

published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof
in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa, on the 28th day of
