AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CIVIL SERVICE
ORDINANCE AS PASSED BY THE QUALIFIED
ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AT GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON APRIL 11, 1950, and
AMENDED AT GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS ON
APRIL 13, 1954, APRIL 10, 1956, and APRIL
14, 1970, RELATING TO THE DURATION OF THE
PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOR APPOINTMENT OR
PROMOTION OF PERSONNEL.
The people of the City of Azusa do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1 . That the Civil Service Initiative Ordinance
of the City of Azusa, adopted by the voters of the City on April
11, 1950, be amended by amending the first paragraph of Section 8
thereof (as set forth in the Azusa Municipal Code as Section
2513) to read:
"The rules of the Personnel Board shall
provide for a period of probation not
to exceed one year before appointment
or promotion is complete, during which
the employee may be rejected at any
time without right of appeal or hear-
ing in any manner. "
SECTION 2. This Ordinance, being submitted to a
vote of the people at the Municipal Election scheduled for April
11, 1972, shall become valid and binding if a majority of the
voters voting thereon vote in its favor at said election, shall
be considered as adopted on the date that the vote is declared
by the City Council, and shall go into effect ten (10) days
after adoption.

Los Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the fore-
going Ordinance No . 1031 was passed and adopted by the electors
at the General Municipal Election, held in the City of Azusa on
April 11, 1972.
