HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 1017 Y SinOr ORDINANCE NO. 1017 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ADDING SECTION 8103.12 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO FEES PAYABLE PURSUANT TO THE ELECTRICAL CODE. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 8103.12 is added to the Azusa Municipal Code to read: "SECTION 8103.12. AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL CODE. PERMIT FEES. Subsection (a) of Section 8 of the Electrical Code (Electrical Code of the County of Los Angeles, Ordinance 2252 as amended through and including March 12, 1968) is hereby amended to read: (a) Electrical Permit Fees Permits For issuing permits, each $ 3 00 Receptacle, Switch and Lighting Outlets For receptacle, switch, lighting, or other outlets at which current is used or controlled except services, feeders, and meters First 20, each .25 Additional outlets, each .10 Note : For multi-outlet assemblies, each five feet or fraction thereof may be considered as one outlet. Lighting Fixtures For lighting fixtures, sockets, or other lamp holding devices First 20, each .25 Additional fixtures, each .10 For mercury vapor-type lighting fixtures, each . . .50 For pole or platform mounted lighting fixtures, each . 50 For theatrical-type lighting fixtures or assemblies, each 50 For each temporary lighting or receptacle installation used for buildings under construction, decorative lighting, etc., each . . . 3.00 Residential Appliances For fixed residential appliances or receptacle outlets for same, including wall mounted electrical ovens, counter-mounted cooking tops, electric ranges, air conditioners or coolers, space heaters, food waste grinders, dish-washers, washing machines, water heaters, clothes dryers, or motor operated appliances, not exceeding one (1) horsepower (HP) in rating,each 1.00 NOTE: For other appliances see Power Apparatus. Non-Residential Appliances For self-contained, factory wired, non-residential appliances not exceeding one (1) horsepower (HP), kilowatt (KW), or kilovolt-ampere (KVA), in rating including medical and dental devices; food, -1- beverage, and ice-cream cabinets, illuminated showcases, drinking fountains, vending machines, laundry machines, or other similar types of equipment, each • • • • $ 1.00 Note : For other appliances See Power Apparatus. Power Apparatus For motors; generators; transformers; rectifiers; synchronous converters; capacitors; industrial heating, cooking, or baking equipment; and other apparatus, as follows : Rating in horsepower (HP), kilowatts (KW), or Kilovolt-amperes (KVA) Up to and including 1, each 1.00 Over 1 and not over 10, each 3.00 Over 10 and not over 50, each 5.00 Over 50 and not over 100, each 10.00 Over 100 and not over 500, each 15.00 Over 500, each 25.00 Note : 1. For equipment or appliances having more than one motor or heater, the sum of the combined ratings may be used. 2. These fees include all switches, circuit breakers, contactors, relays and other directly related control equipment. Busways For trolley and plug-in type busways, each 100 feet or fraction thereof 2.00 Note: An additional fee will be required for lighting fixtures, motors and other appliances that are connected to trolley and plug-in type busways. No fee is required for portable tools. Signs, Outline Lighting, and Marquees For one sign, outline lighting system, or marquee containing one branch circuit, each 5.00 For additional branch circuits within the same sign, outline lighting system, or marquee, each 1 00 For separately installed flashers, timers or other control devices, each 1 00 Services For services of 600 volts or less and not over 200 amperes in rating, each 3 00 For services over 600 volts or over 200 amperes in rating, each 10.00 For services supplying temporary power poles or pedestals including all pole or pedestal mounted receptacle outlets and appurtenances, each 5.00 Miscellaneous Conduits and Conductors For electrical conduits and conductors for which a permit is required but for which no fee is herein set forth 1.00 Note : This fee is not applicable when a fee is paid for one or more services, outlets, fixtures, appliances, power apparatus, busways, signs, or other equipment. -2- Other Inspections For each extra inspection resulting from defective workmanship or materials, each $ 5.00 For inspection of electrical equipment for which no fee is herein set forth and for emergency inspections for the time consumed per hour 10.00 With a minimum charge for 1/2 hour or less. . . 5.00" SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
