HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 979 ORDINANCE NO. 979 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE "THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FIRE CODE" ADOPTED BY COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 2947 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 9687. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 3140 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 3140. ADOPTION OF THE FIRE CODE. A certain code entitled "Fire Code", being a pub- lished compilation of rules, regulations, and standards adopted by the County by Ordinance No. 2947 as amended by Ordinance No. 9687 of the County, compiled in book form, three full printed copies of which, printed as a code in book form, were, by the City Council, ordered filed, and have been actually filed, in the office of the City Clerk, and which as so on file are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly in- corporated herein and made a part hereof as fully and for all intents and purposes as though set forth herein at length, shall be, and the same hereby is, adopted and established as the Fire Code of the City prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire. " SECTION 2. Section 3142 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 3142. AMENDMENTS TO FIRE CODE. (a) Subsection a. of Section 1.13 of said Fire Code is amended to read as follows: 'a. The administrative officer of the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall be appointed by the Chief of the Fire Depart- ment from among the officers of the Fire Department. His title shall be Fire Inspector. Whenever in this Fire Code the words "Fire Marshal" are used, they shall mean and refer to said Fire Inspector. ' (b) Article 12 of Said Fire Code is deleted in its entirety. (c) Section 15.503 of said Fire Code is amended by the addition thereto of the following new subsection (e) : 'e. Certain Prohibitions. The use of coin-operated or card operated devices for dispensing of Class I flammable liquids is prohibited . ' " SECTION 3. Part 6 of Article III of the Azusa Municipal Code, consisting of Sections 3160 and 3161, are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
