HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 975 ORDINANCE NO. 975 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED NORTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 67 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of July, 1969, the City Council of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 5601 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Northerly Annexation District No. 67, and said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of September, 1969, at the hour of 8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber in the Azusa Auditorium located in the Civic Center at 213 East Foothill Boule- vard in the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 5601 for hearing of protests to said annexation, and said City Council having then and there duly con- tinued said hearing to the same time and place on the 15th day of September, 1969, and at said continued hearing the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did find and determine by Resolution that protest had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said assessment roll and the Assessor of the County of Los Angeles, and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby approve the annexation of the territory herein- after described to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particu- larly described as follows : That portion of the east 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of Section 27, and that portion of the west 1/2 of the north- west 1/4 of Section 26, and that portion of the southeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of Section 22, Township 1 North, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, as re- corded in the United States Government District Land Office, and that portion of Rancho Azusa finally confirmed to Henry Dalton as recorded in Book 2 on Pages 106 and 107 of Patents in the office of the County Recorder located in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows : Beginning at the northwest corner of said Section 26; thence S 89° 19' 13" E along the northerly line of said Section 26 a distance of 120.01 feet to the northwest corner of Tract No. 26356 as shown on map filed in Book 677, Pages 98, 99, and 100 of Maps, -1- in the office of the County Recorder of said county (said corner also being an angle point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as it existed on November 9, 1967) ; thence South along said boundary 1022.75 feet to the most westerly southwest corner of Tract No. 26013 as shown on map filed in Book 673, Pages 31, 32, and 33 of said Maps; thence along the southerly boundary of said Tract No. 26013, N 890 19' 56" E 86.10 feet, S 380 46' 04" E 109.03 feet, N 67° 13' 56" E 69.53 feet, N 0° 00' 56" E 59.63 feet, N 89° 19' 56" E 341.56 feet, S 42° 54' 16" E 213.86 feet, and SO° 00' 56" W 202.00 feet (said southerly boundary also being said boundary of the City of Azusa) ; thence leaving said southerly boundary of Tract No. 26013, and along said boundary of the City of Azusa, S 89° 19' 56" W 725.61 feet, North 304.68 feet, S 89° 11' 06" w 259.72 feet, N 0 23' 42" E 180.00 feet, N 29 20 ' 52" W 94.00 feet, N 31° 14' 52" E 201.36 feet, North 196.12 feet, East 200.00 feet, North 275.00 feet, West 100.00 feet, S 64° 57' 17" W 343.48 feet and S 86° 07' 26" w 40.00 feet to the westerlyline of Azusa & San Gabriel Canyon Road, 0 feet wide, as shown on map recorded in Book 7028 Page 337 of Deeds, in the office of said County Re- corder; thence leaving said existing City Boundary, northerly along said westerly line to the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of that certain parcel of land described in deed to Joe Z. Vasquez, et ux recorded in Book D213, page 67 of Official Records, in the office of said County Recorder; thence leaving said westerly line of Azusa & San Gabriel Canyon Road, along said westerly pro- longation and northerly line S 80° 51' 10 ' E 399.33 feet to the easterly line of said Section 22; thence S 0° 16' 33" W along said easterly line 393.45 feet to the point of beginning. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
