HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 970 1,, ORDINANCE NO. 970 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 71 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: WHEREAS, a petition requesting annexation of certain territory in the City of Azusa signed by owners of all the land therein has theretofore been filed with the City; and WHEREAS, certain uninhabited territory owned by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District was thereafter added, extending the southerly boundary of the territory referred to above, which addition of territory for annexation was consented to by said District; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County, at its meeting held July 9, 1969 did duly adopt a resolution approving annexation to the City of Azusa of the territory referred to above and more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, said Commission in said resolution did further approve and authorize the City of Azusa to proceed with said annexation of said territory described in Exhibit "A" without notice or election pursuant to Section 5+797.1 of the Government Code; and WHEREAS, recommendation with respect to the territory proposed to be annexed having been made by the Azusa Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa; NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to Section 35015 of the Government Code the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby approve the annexation of the territory in Exhibit "A" to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further resolve that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. N EASTERLY ANNEXATION DIS TR.IC i NUMBER 71 (Revised Description) That portion of Rancho Azusa finally confirmed to Henry Dalton as recorded in Book 2, on Pages 106 and 107 of Patents in the office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly boundary of the City of Azusa as it existed on April 17, 1969 and the centerline of Foothill Boulevard, 44.00 feet wide, as established by deed recorded in Book 4473, page 165 of Deeds, in the office of said County Recorder, said centerline being 25.00 feet north of the south right-of-way line of said Foothill Boulevard; thence along said easterly boundary the following courses: S 0° 0332" W 25.00 feet, N 89° 54' 10" V✓ 205.19 feet, S 0° 06' 05" W 184.00 feet, N 89° 54' 10" 'N 133.00 feet, S 0° 06' 05" W 198.60 feet, N 89° 57' 10" W 545.00 feet to the northeast line of Alosta Avenue (90.00 feet wide) as it existed on April 17, 1969, S 40° 52' 50" E along said north- east line, 601 .35 feet to the center line of Little Dalton Wash right-of- way, 60 feet wide, as described first in Parcel No. 74 of Final Order of Condemnation in favor of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, recorded in Book D1697, pages 459 to 486, of Official Records, in the office of said County Recorder; thence leaving said easterly boundary of the City of Azusa, southeasterly along said northeast line to the most southerly corner of that certain parcel of land described second in Parcel No. 74 of said Final Order of Condemnation; thence northeasterly along the southeast line of said certain parcel of land described second, to the southerly line of said right-of-way, 60 feet wide; thence easterly along said southerly line to the most westerly corner of that certain parcel of - 1-2 E,rr-4(d(T �4 land described fourth in Parcel No. 74 of said Final Order of Condemnation; thence easterly along the southerly line of said certain parcel of land de- scribed fourth, to the southwesterly corner of that certain parcel of land described as Parcel No. 440 of said Find Order of Condemnation; thence easterly in a direct line through the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned certain parcel of land to the centerline of Citrus Avenue (of varying width) as it existed on April 17, 1969, per County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 10854 on file in the office of the County Engineer of said County; thence northerly along said centerline of Citrus Avenue, to aforementioned centerline of Foothill Sou avard; thence N 89° 54' 10" W along said center- line of Foothill Boulevard, 928.66 feet to the point of beginning. •
