ORDINANCE NO. 901
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 9230.52 OF
THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO IMPROVEMENTS OF
OFF-STREET PARKING AREAS IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL
ZONES.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Proper hearings having been held thereon by
the Planning Commission and City Council, after legal notice thereof,
and the following amendment having been recommended and approved,
Section 9230.52 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended by the
addition thereto of a new Subsection (g) reading as follows:
"(g) Landscaping of open parking areas in commercial and industrial
zoned properties shall be provided in all parking areas
having 15 or more parking spaces as follows:
1. An amount equal to not less than 2% of the gross parking
area, which for the purpose of calculation shall include all
that area improved and used for the parking of vehicles as
well as aisles, shall be landscaped and maintained as interior
landscaping.
2. Planting along the perimeter of parking area, whether
for required screening or general beautification, which shall
not be considered as part of the 2% interior landscaping.
Also, where a parking area abuts the buildings on the sub-
ject property, the border plantings adjacent to those
buildings shall not be considered as part of the interior
landscaping.
3. This subsection (g) shall apply only to said parking
areas opened, developed, altered or enlarged after July 3,
1967. "
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law.

certify that the above Ordinance No. 901 was regularly introduced and
placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 7th day of August , 1967. That, thereafter, said ordinance
was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 21st day of August , 1967, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Calvert, Solem, McLees, Cooney
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None

published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
