HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 882 l!`~f` '; ORDINANCE NO. 882 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO DISTANCE BETWEEN BUILDINGS IN ZONES R-1, R-2 AND R-3. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. After due and proper notice and hearings before the Planning Commission and City Council, the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition thereto of a new Section 9208.51 reading as follows: "SECTION 9208.51. DISTANCE BETWEEN BUILDINGS. a. Accessory buildings shall not be located less than ten feet from any main building. If the lot rears on an alley, the garage shall maintain a distance of not less than five feet from the rear lot line. b. Where an accessory building is attached to a main building by a breezeway roof, the intervening space shall be not less than ten feet. C. The minimum distance between accessory buildings not having a common wall shall be not less than six feet, provided there are no entrance openings into the intervening open space, in which case the distance shall be not less than ten feet. " SECTION 2. Section 9209.60 of the Azusa Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: "SECTION 9209.60. DISTANCE BETWEEN BUILDINGS. a. The minimum distance between single story buildings on the same lot, neither one of which has an entrance opening • upon the intervening space, shall be not less than ten feet, and the minimum distance between dwellings on the same lot in all other cases shall be not less than twenty feet. If a lot rears on the alley the garage shall maintain a distance of not less than five feet from the rear lot line. b. Where an accessory building is attached to a main building by a breezeway roof, the intervening space shall not be less than ten feet. c . The minimum distance between accessory buildings not having a common wall shall be not less than six feet, provided there are no entrance openings into the intervening open space, in which case the distance shall be not less than ten feet. " SECTION 3. Section 9210.60 of the Azusa Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: "SECTION 9210.60. DISTANCE BETWEEN BUILDINGS. a. An accessory building shall be not less than fifteen feet from the main building neither one of which has an entrance opening upon the intervening space. In all other cases where one entry or more exists into the intervening space, the distance between buildings shall be not less than twenty feet. If the lot rears on an alley, the accessory building used for garage purposes shall maintain a distance of not less than five feet , from the rear lot line. b. The minimum distance between accessory buildings not having a common wall shall be not less than six feet, provided there are no entrance openings into the intervening open space, in which case the distance shall be not less than ten feet. " SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law. Passed and approved this 1st day of August , 1966.
