HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 874 'ORDINANCE NO. 874 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING PROVISIONS OF SECTION 9206 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE DEFINING AUTO WRECKING YARDS AND JUNK YARDS. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Upon recommendation of the Planning Com- mission and after due and proper notice and hearings before the Planning Commission and the City Council, Section 9206 of the Azusa Municipal Code is amended by the addition thereto of the following inserted in alphabetical order: "AUTOMOBILE WRECKING YARD OR ESTABLISHMENT shall mean any premises used for the dismantling or wrecking of vehicles required to be registered under the Vehicle Code of the State of California including the buying, selling or dealing in such vehicles or the integral parts or component mater- ials thereof, and the storage, sale or dumping of dismantled, partially dismantled or wrecked in- operative vehicles. Automobile dismantling shall not include the incidental storage of inoperative or disabled vehicles in connection with the legal operation of an automobile repair garage, automobile body and fender repair shop. " "JUNK YARD ESTABLISHMENT shall mean any premises used for the keeping or storage of Junk, including, but not limited to, iron and scrap metals, paper, rags, glass, wood and similar materials and shall include the dismantling of machinery or the stor- age or keeping for sale of parts and equipment re- sulting from dismantling or wrecking operations on said property or elsewhere. Junk and salvage yard shall also include the baling of cardboard, card- board boxes, paper and paper cartons. " SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the pas- sage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. Passed and approved this 4th day of April 1966.
