HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 862 ORDINANCE NO. 862 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF "TRANSIENT" AS CONTAINED IN THE ROOM TAX PROVISIONS OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 6401.3 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 6401.3. SAME. TRANSIENT. "Transient" means any person who exercises occupancy or is entitled to occupancy by reason of concession, permit, right of access, license or other agreement for a period of twenty-five consecutive calendar days or less, counting portions of calendar days as full days. Any such person so occupying space in a hotel shall be deemed to be a transient until the period of twenty-five days has expired unless there is an agreement in writing between the operator and the occupant providing for a longer period of occupancy or payment for more than twenty-five consecutive days has been made in advance. In determining whether a person is a transient, uninterrupted periods of time extending both prior and sub- sequent to the effective date of this Chapter may be considered." SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner required by law. Passed and approved this 6th day of December , 1965.
