HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 842 ORDINANCE NO. b42 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE TO REQUIRE A FRANCHISE OF PERSONS USING THE PUBLIC STREETS FOR WATER TRANSMISSION PURPOSES. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition of a new Part 3 to Article VII thereof reading as follows: "Part 3 — FRANCHISES REQUIRED SECTION 7430. WATER FRANCHISE. No person shall lay or use any pipe, ditch, flume, conduit or appurtenances for transmitting and distributing water for any purpose under, along, across or upon the public streets, ways, alleys or public places within the City unless such person has a valid and existing franchise therefor, except that the provisions of this Section shall not apply to the City or to the water department of the City. " SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and publish the same as required by law.
