The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
adjourned session at the above time and place.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Ortuno,
Johnson, Romero,
Memmesheimer
Absent: Councilman Fawcett
Also present: City Engineer, City Clerk -
Administrative Officer
The City Treasurer suggested that the Council,
by motion, instruct and authorize him to pur-
chase U. S. 91 -day Treasury Bills in the amount
of $100,000.00 since an excess in that amount had
been received recently from the State in Gas Tax
money and other revenues.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Council-
man Ortuno and unanimously carried, the City
Treasurer be instructed and authorized to purchase
91 -day Treasury Bills in the amount of $100,000.00.
Roll Call
Mr. A. Lechuga, 532 E. Hollyvale Street, requests
permission to relocate a house to the 500 block on
East Hollyvale Street on an empty lot next to his
residence. The house is presently located in County
territory between Azusa and Covina. The correction
list, as made up by the Building Inspector showed
corrections necessary at an estimated cost of 03000.00
:_which would.necessitate a bond of 03300.00 being posted.
The Building Inspector had stated that there is a Relocation
house of similar architecture in the immediate vici- Request
nity on Hollyvale Ave. Mr: Lechuga agreed to remodel Lechuga
the douse as requested by the Bulding'Department.
Moved°:byCouncilman Ortuno, seconded by Councilman
Johnson, and unanimously carried, the request for
the relocation be granted, subject to the conditions
imposed by the Building Department.
The Administrative Officer submitted, for Council's
approval and inspection, a Manualwhich had been

A copy of the advertisement which appeared in the
program of the All American Prep -Basketball World
Series was shown to the members of the Council.
Bill Kilmer, of Citrus High School, played in this
Basketball
Basketball World Series, representing Azusa.
World Series
Mayor Memmesheimer stated that four Eagle Scouts
program
from Azusa would be attending the National Jamboree
at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania shortly, and in his
opinion, would be nice if the City could arrange
for these young men some type of recognition
whereby they could demonstrate and advertise their
home town while they are at their Jamboree.
Moved by Councilman Romero, seconded by Councilman
Eagle Scouts
Ortuno, and unanimously carried, the Chamber of
Jamboree
Commerce be authorized to grant some order of
recognition to the Eagle Scouts attending the
national Jamboree, the amount to be expended not
to exceed $20.00.
The City Council next undertook a study session of
the proposed budgets for the year 1957-1958.
On a duly ordered motion, this meeting adjourned
at 11:10 P.M.
