AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, 'APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 57
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of March, 1964, the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4612, giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Southerly
Annexation District No. 57, and said resolution describing the
boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of April, 1964, at the hour of
8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4612
for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did
hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did
find and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and
private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be
annexed as determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the
said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as
follows:
Those portions of the north 1/2 of the southwest 1/4
of Section 2, T 1 S, R 10 W, S.B.B.M., and those portions
of the Rancho Azusa as shown on map recorded in Book 2,
pages 106 and 107 of Patents in the office of the
Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, located in the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described
as follows:
Commencing at a point of beginning at the intersection
of the southerly boundary of the City of Azusa as it
existed on December 5, 1963 (in Gladstone Street), and
the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of the
west 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of
said Section 2; thence S 0° 09' 25" W along said northerly
prolongation and easterly line 1404.13 feet to the southerly
line of the northeast 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of said
Section 2; thence N 89° 54 ' 53" W along said southerly
line 659.20 feet to the westerly line of the northeast
1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of said Section 2; thence N 0°
06 ' 53" E along said westerly line 1035.02 feet to the
southerly line of Lot 151 of Tract No. 19685 as shown on

map recorded in Book 505, pages 8 to 14 inclusive
of Maps, in the office of said recorder; thence N 89°
53 ' 07" W along said last mentioned southerly line
100.66 feet to the easterly line of Duxford Avenue
54.00 feet wide as shown on said last mentioned map;
thence N 0° 061 53" E along said last mentioned easterly
line and the northerly prolongation thereof 114.74 feet
to the northerly line of Orkney Street, 54.00 feet wide,
as shown on said last mentioned map; thence N 89° 35t
01" W along said northerly line 184.34 feet to the
easterly line of Lot 87 of said Tract No. 19685; thence
N 0° 061 53" E along said last mentioned easterly line
and the northerly prolongation thereof 258.71 feet to
the southerly boundary of the City of Azusa as it existed
on December 5, 1963 (in Gladstone Street); thence S 89°
35' 01" E along said southerly boundary 945.23 feet to
the point of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 797 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 4th day of May , 1964. That, there-
after, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting
of the City Council on the 18th day of May , 1964, by the
following vote, to-wit:

NOES: Councilmen: None
