HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 799 ORDINANCE NO. 799 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED NORTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 60 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: WHEREAS, on the 16th day of March, 1964, the City Council of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4617, giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Northerly Annexation District No. 60, and said resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, on the 4th day of May, 1964, prior to the hearing hereinafter mentioned, the City Council did by resolution, pursuant to Section 35008 of the Government Code, exclude from said territory proposed to be annexed a certain portion thereof as shown by the des- cription hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, on the 4th day of May, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4617 for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation as revised and did find and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory as revised is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des- cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: That portion of the east 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of Section 27, and that portion west 1/2 of west 1/2 of north- west 1/4 Section 26 Township 1 North, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base Meridian, as recorded in the District Land Office, located in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, and that portion of the Rancho Azusa finally confirmed to Henry Dalton as shown on map recorded in Book 2, pages 106 and 107 of Patents, in the office of the County Recorder of said county, described as follows: Commencing at a point of beginning S 89° 371 06" E along the easterly prolongation of the north line of Tract No. 20971 as shown on map recorded in Book 593, pages 65, 66 and 67 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, 36.35 feet from the northeast corner of Lot 24 of said Tract No. 20971 (said point also being an angle point in the bounds of the City of Azusa as it existed on January 6, 1960; thence continuing S 89° 37' 06" E along said easterly prolongation to the westerly line of Azusa and San Gabriel Canyon Road, 40 feet wide, as shown on map recorded in Book 7028, page 337 of Deeds in the office of said County Recorder; thence S 3° 52 ' 54" E along said westerly line to a line that is perpendicular to said westerly line and passes through the most westerly northwesterly corner of that certain parcel of land described in deed to Fred Running et ux recorded in Book D1981, page 19 of Official Records, in the office of said County Recorder; thence N 86° 07' 06" E along said perpendicular line 40.00 feet to said most westerly northwesterly corner; thence northeasterly and easterly along the northwesterly and northerly line of said parcel of land to a line that is parallel with and 20 feet westerly, measured at right angles, from the most westerly line of Tract No. 26356, as shown on map recorded in Book 677, pages 98, 99 and 100 of said Maps; thence south 275.00 feet along said parallel line to the southerly line of said parcel of land; thence west along said southerly line and its westerly prolongation 200.00 feet; thence south 201.32 feet to the southeasterly line of said parcel of land; thence southwesterly along said southeasterly line to the most northerly northeasterly corner of that certain parcel of land described in deed to Harold N. Vallentine recorded in Book 43771, page 405 of said Official Records; thence southeasterly and southerly along the northeasterly and easterly lines of said last mentioned parcel of land to the most westerly south- westerly corner of that certain parcel of land described in deed to Gerald L. Hagney et ux recorded in Book 54223, page 338 of said Official Records; thence easterly and southerly along the boundary of said last mentioned parcel of land to said boundary of the City of Azusa; thence westerly and following the same in all its various courses and curves to the point of beginning. EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PARCEL; EXCLUDED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 35008 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE: Bounded on the north by the easterly prolongation of the north line of Tract No. 20971 as shown on map recorded in Book 593, pages 65, 66 and 67 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles; bounded on the south by a line parallel to and N 3° 52' 54" W 165.93 feet from the northerly line of that certain parcel of land described in Book 23110, page 52 of Official Records, in the Office of said County Recorder; bounded on the west by the easterly line of San Gabriel Canyon Road, 100 feet wide, as it existed on January 6, 1964; bounded on the east by the westerly line of Azusa and San Gabriel Canyon Road, 40 feet wide, as it existed on January 6, 1964. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. Passed and approved this 18tiay of May , 1964.
