HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 789 ORDINANCE NO. 789 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTION 3200.68 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN STREETS. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 3200.68 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 3200.68. SPEED LIMITS LOWERED ON CERTAIN STREETS. It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation and survey that the speed permitted by State law outside of business and residence districts as applicable upon the following public streets within the incorporated limits of the City is more than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets, and it is hereby determined and declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated, when appropri- ate signs are erected giving notice thereof. Name of Street or Portion Affected Declared Prima Facie Speed Limit Vincent Avenue between Gladstone Street and Newburgh Street 40 miles per hour Vernon Avenue between Eleventh Street and Foothill Boulevard 30 miles per hour Lark Ellen Avenue between the Southerly City Limits and Gladstone Street 40 miles per hour Gladstone Street from Citrus Avenue on the west to the Easterly City Limits 25 miles per hour Remainder of Gladstone Street within the City Limits 40 miles per hour Rockvale Avenue from the City Limits southerly of Fifth Street to the City Limits at Baseline Avenue 35 miles per hour. " SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
