AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 54
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of December, 1963, the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4579, giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Easterly
Annexation District No. 54, and said resolution describing the boundaries
of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of February, 1964, at the hour of
8:00 o 'clock P. M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4579 for
hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear
and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did find
and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the
said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
That portion of the northeast 1/4 of Section 35 and that
portion of the south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of Section
26, Township 1 North, Range 10 West, Rancho Azusa, as
recorded in Book 2, Pages 106 and 107 of Patents, in the
office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, described as follows:
Commencing at a point of beginning being the inter-
section
of the southerly line of the Atchison, Topeka and
Santa Fe Railway, 100 feet wide (formerly the Southern
California Railway) with the easterly line of that
certain strip of land lying along the easterly line of
Lot 87 and marked "No Road" on map of Subdivision No. 2,
of the Azusa Land and Water Co . as recorded in Book 43, •'
page 94 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the
County Recorder, and also being an angle point in the
easterly boundary of the City of Azusa as it existed
on October 11, 1963; thence S 87° 34 ' 16" E along the
southerly line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway 319.32 feet; thence easterly along a curve in
said southerly line concave to the north, having a radius
of 5779.65 feet and through a central angle of 5° 59' 27"
for an arc distance of 604.23 feet tothe dividing line
of the lands of Vosburg and Macneil as described in the
deed recorded in Book 1032, Page 70 of Deeds, in the office

of the County Recorder; thence S 0° 031 32" W along said
dividing line 1096.75 feet to the southerly line of
Foothill Boulevard, 44 feet wide, as established by deed
recorded in Book 4473, Page 165 of Deeds, in the office
of the County Recorder; thence N 89° 54 ' 10" W along said
southerly line 205.19 feet to the easterly line of the land
of Charles Stewart et ux, described in deed recorded in
Book 24187, page 126 of Official Records, in the office
of the County Recorder; thence S 0° 061 05" W along said
easterly line 184.00 feet to the southerly line of said
land of Stewart; thence N 89° 541 10" W along said last
mentioned southerly line 133.00 feet to the easterly line
of the land of Mabelie Scott Anderson et al, described
in deed recorded in Book 19417, page 338 of Official
Records in the office of the County Recorder; thence S 0°
06 ' 05" W along said last mentioned easterly line 198.60
feet to the southerly line of said land of Mabelie Scott
Anderson; thence N 89° 571 10" W along said last mentioned
southerly line and its westerly prolongation 565.00 feet
to the easterly boundary of the City of Azusa, as it
existed on October 11, 1963; thence northerly along said
easterly boundary of the City of Azusa and following the
same in all its various courses to the point of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.
Passed and approved this 17th day of February , 1964.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 780 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 3rd day of February , 1964. That, thereafter,
said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 17th day of February , 1964, by the following
vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Memmesheimer, Cooney, Jackson, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: McLees
ABSENT:Councilmen: None 7 r,.

published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
on the 26th day of February , 1964, and that the same was
published in accordance with law.
