AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE AZUSA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE C-2 AND C-3 ZONES
AND ELIMINATING RESIDENTIAL USES THEREFROM.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of Section 9212.10 of the Azusa
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(a) The following non-commercial uses:
1. Agricultural uses.
2. The keeping of poultry and animals, to maximum
numbers as follows:
a. Three weaned dogs
b. Three weaned cats
c . Chinchillas
d. Parakeets
e. Fifteen chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, or
other poultry over twelve weeks of age or
thirty chicks of any age provided said poultry
shall not be kept or maintained within fifty
feet of any dwelling nor within one hundred
feet from any school, hospital, or similar
institution
f. Four rabbits over twelve weeks provided said
rabbits shall not be kept or maintained within
fifty feet of any dwelling nor within one
hundred feet from any school, hospital, or
similar institution.
g. One horse, or one cow, or one goat provided
the lot has a minimum area of one acre and
the animal is not housed or pastured within one
hundred feet of a dwelling, further provided,
however, that additional animals may be per-
mitted after public hearing under a Conditional
Use Permit in accordance with the procedures
stated in Section 9231.12 and Sections 9231.20
to 9231.29 inclusive.
3. Libraries, museums, parks, playgrounds, and com-
munity buildings owned and controlled by the Mun-
icipality; City-owned electric sub-stations, water
wells and similar appurtenant facilities, if
approved by resolution of record of both the Com-
mission and City Council and subject to such con-
ditions as may be deemed proper by the City Council.
4. Churches, elementary, junior high and high schools
offering full curricula as required by State law,
colleges, listed as institutions of higher learning
with the U. S. Office of Education.
5. Day nurseries, nursery schools, rest homes, and
homes for the aged or for children may be permitted
after a public hearing in each case under Conditional
Use Permit obtained in accordance with procedures
stated in Section 9231.12 and Sections 9231.20
through 9231.29 inclusive.

6. Boarding, lodging, rooming and fraternity or sorority
houses, may be permitted after a public hearing in
each case under Conditional Use Permit obtained in
accordance with procedures stated in Section 9231.12
and Sections 9231.20 through 9231.29 inclusive.
SECTION 2. Sections 9212.30, 9212.40, 9212.60, 9213.30,
9213.40 and 9213.60 of the Azusa Municipal Code are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. Section 9212.50 of the Azusa Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 9212.50. YARDS.
There are no yard requirements except there shall be a
rear yard of not less than fifteen feet when a rear lot line is
adjacent to an R Zone and there is no intervening alley. "
SECTION 4. Section 9213.50 of the Azusa Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 9213.50. YARDS.
There are no yard requirements except there shall be a
rear yard of not less than fifteen feet when a rear lot is
adjacent to an R Zone and there is no intervening alley. "
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 773 was regularly introduced
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 18th day of November , 1963. That, thereafter, said ordinance
was duly and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 2nd day of December , 1963, by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Memmesheimer, Cooney, Jackson, McLees, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None 2

I do further certify that/I caused said Ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof
in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa, on the 11th day
of December , 1963, and that the same was published in accordance
with law. -
