AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 53
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of September, 1963 the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4538, giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Southerly
Annexation District No. 53, and said resolution describing the boundaries
of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of November, 1963, at the hour of
8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4538 for
hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear
and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did find
and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private
owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed
as determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the
said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 2 of Tract
No. 19809 as recorded in Book 520, Pages 34 to 40
inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, which is
also an angle point in the boundary of the City of Azusa
as it existed on August 1, 1963; thence S 89° 591 10" W
191.01 feet along the Northerly line of Lot 2 of said
Tract No. 19809 and the Westerly prolongation thereof to
the Northwesterly corner of Lot 3 of said Tract No. 19809;
thence S 0° 001 50" E along the Westerly line of said
Lot 3 and the Southerly prolongation thereof a distance
of 207.74 feet more or less to the Southerly line of
Gladstone Street as shown on map of said Tract No. 19809
which is also the North line of the SE 1/4 of Section
2, Township 1 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base
Meridian; thence S 89° 561 40" E along said North line
51.01 feet to an angle point in the boundary of the City
of Azusa as it existed on August1, 1963; thence con-
tinuing along said boundary N 42° 101 29" E 86.24 feet
to the Southwesterly corner of Lot 1 of said Tract No.
19809; thence continuing along said boundary S 89° 561
40" E 57.00 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to
the Northwest and having a radius of 25.00 feet; thence
continuing Easterly, Northeasterly and Northerly along
said boundary and said curve through a central angle of

90° 021 40" an arc distance of 39.29 feet; thence con-
tinuing along said boundary N Ou 001 40" E 118.98 feet
to the point of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 768 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 4th day of November , 1963. That, there-
after, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting
of the City Council on the 18th day of November , 1963, by the
following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Memmesheimer, Cooney, Jackson, McLees, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None

I do further certify that I caused said ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
on the 24th day of November , 1963, and that the same was pub-
lished in accordance with law.
