HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 766 ORDINANCE NO. 766 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 50 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: WHEREAS, on the 16th day of September, 1963 the City Council of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4536 , giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 50, and said resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, on the 4th day of November, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4536 for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did find and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des- cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Those portions of Lots 208 and 209 of Tract No. 19381 as recorded in Book 505, Pages 47 to 50 inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Lot 208 in said Tract No. 19381; thence S 88° 12 ' 28" E 626.05 feet along the Northerly line of said Lot 208 to the Northeasterly corner thereof; thence along the generally Easterly lines of said Lots 208 and 209 the following courses and distances: Southerly along a curve concave to the Southwest, having a radius of 539.21 feet and through a central angle of 00° 03 ' 47" an arc distance of 0.59 feet, S 0° 39' 35" W 949.30 feet and South- westerly along a curve concave to the Northwest, having a radius of 15.00 feet and through a central angle of 92° 23 ' 40" an arc distance of 24.19 feet to the straight line portion of the Southerly line of said Lot 209; thence N 86° 56 ' 45" W 702.24 feet along the straight line portion of said Southerly line and its prolongation to the Westerly line of Lark Ellen Avenue (80 feet wide) as shown on said map, which also is the existing city boundary of the City of Azusa as it existed on July 30, 1963; thence along said city boundary the following courses and distances: N 1 20' X38" E 198.91 feet, S 88° 39' 22" E 80.00 feet, and N 1 20' 38" E 750.00 feet to the point of beginning. -1- • The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
