ORDINANCE NO. 747
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 49
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 15th day of April, 1963, the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4474, giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City
of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Southerly Annexation
District No. 49, and said resolution describing the boundaries of the
territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of May, 1963, at the hour of 8:00
o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4474 for
hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear
and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did find
and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the owners
of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown
by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners
of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as
determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said terri-
tory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as
follows:
Those portions of the southeast 1/4 of the northeast 1/4
of Section 4, Township 18, Range 10 W, San Bernardino Base
Meridian and of the northeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of
said Section 4 described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly boundary
of the City of Azusa (along Gladstone Street) as same
existed on March 8, 1963 and the northerly prolongation
of the westerly line of Vincent Avenue, 40.00 feet wide,
as shown on map of Tract No. 23093, recorded in Book 615,
pages 88, 89 and 90 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder
of the County of Los Angeles, a portion of the said westerly
line of Vincent Avenue and the northerly prolongation
thereof, also being a section of the westerly boundary of
the City of Azusa as same existed on March 8, 1963;
thence southerly along said westerly line of Vincent
Avenue and the northerly prolongation thereof to the
south line of the northeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of
said Section 4; thence N 89° 541 30" W 660.00 feet along
said south line to the west line of the east 1/2 of the
northeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of said Section 4;
thence N 1° 061 02" E 1370.04 feet along said west line
and the northerly prolongation thereof to a point in

the said existingboundary of the City of Azusa (along
Gladstone Street); thence easterly along said last
mentioned boundary of the City of Azusa to the point
of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
law.
Passed and approved this 27th day of May , 1963.

I, Marilyn S. Torrey, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Azusa,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 747 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 20th day of May, 1963. That, thereafter, said
ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 27th day of May, 1963, by the following vote,
to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Memmesheimer, Cooney, McLees, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: Jackson

I do further certify that I caused said ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
on the 2nd day of June, 1963, and that the same was published in
accordance with law.
