HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 742 ORDINANCE NO. 742 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 47 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: WHEREAS, on the 18th day of February, 1963, the City Council of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4447, giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 47, and said resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, on the 1st day of April, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4447 for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did find and determine by resolution that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said terri- tory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Those portions of the southeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of Section 3 and the northeast 1/4 of the northeast 1/4 of Section 10, Township 1 S, Range 10 W, San Bernardino Base Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at a Point of Beginning N 86° 56 ' 45" W 200.07 feet and S 0° 00' 20" W 20.02 feet from the southeast corner of said Section 3, said Point of Beginning also being on the northerly boundary line of the City of Covina as it existed on January 17, 1963; thence N 86° 56 ' 45" W along said boundary line 482.00 feet to the southerly extension of the easterly line of Lot 91 of Tract No . 18745 as recorded in Book 502, pages 20 to 22 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles; thence N 0° 19' 44" E 695.23 feet along said southerly extension and easterly line and the northerly extension thereof to an angle point in the boundary of said tract; thence S 87° 37 ' 22" E. 6.01 feet along said last mentioned boundary to another angle point in said last mentioned boundary, said point also being a point on the boundary line of the City of Azusa as it existed on January 17, 1963; thence along said last mentioned boundary line the following courses: S 0° 19' 44" w, 44.03 feet, S 87° 34 ' 22" E 317.26 feet, S 0° 00' 20" W, 449.55 feet, and S 86° 56 ' 45" E 154.99 feet to the westerly line of the easterly 200 feet of said Section -1- { 3; thence leaving said boundary line of the City of Azusa, S 0° 00' 20" W 205.29 feet along said last mentioned easterly line to the point of beginning. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. Passed and approved this 15th day of April , 1963. CITY OF AZUSA MARILYN TORREY, Deputy I, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 7)42 was regularly intro- duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 1st day of April, 1963.
