SUBJECT: AW ARD ON CALL ENGINEERING TASK ORDER NUMBER 8 TO STANTEC CONSULTING SERVICES, INC. FOR DESIGN OF TRIANGLE FLOW CONTROL STRUCTURE PROJECT W-354
BACKGROUND:
An automated water flow control valve is required to balance water flows between the water wells and the water filtration plant remotely instead of manually operating valves in the street, which requires traffic control. The recommended action would approve a design contract for the development of bid documents, including engineering plans, specifications and an eng ineer's
estimate, for the construction of an automated flow control structure at the current ''triangle" location. The Capital Improvement Program for the Water Division includes the Triangle Flow Control Structure Project No. W-354. Professional Engineering Services are needed to provide
design and construction documents for its completion.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Utility Board take the following action:
1)Award Task Order Number 8 Professional Engineering Services to provide Design &Contract Documents for the Triangle Flow Control Structure Project W-354 to
Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.; and
2)Authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order for Task Order Number 8, for a not toexceed price of $27,600 in accordance with Azusa Municipal Code Sec 2-518 -
Contracts ( c ), Master Professional Services Contract.
