HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 702 ORDINANCE NO. 702 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, IAS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 43 TO THE CITY OF AZUSA. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: WHEREAS, on the 5th day of February, 1962, the City Council of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4293 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Easterly Annexation District No. 43, and said resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, on the 19th day of March, 1962, at the hour of 8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4293 for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did deter- mine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles; NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said terri- tory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: That portion of Lots 83 and 84 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and Water Company as recorded in Book 43, Page 94, of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest corner of said Lot 84; thence North along the Westerly line of said Lot 84 a distance of 60.00 feet to the true point of beginning; thence East 251.96 feet; thence North 29° 471 30" West 119.90 feet; thence North 75.98 feet; thence North 17° 531 27" East 108.89 feet; thence North 88° 561 East 279.55 feet; thence North 71° 121 East 60.00 feet; thence North 42° 011 East 53.00 feet; thence North 5° 581 West 73.00 feet; thence South 69° 311 West 80.71 feet; thence South 83° 291 West 54.00 feet; thence North 88° 501 West 70.00 feet; thence North 60° 35 ' West 43.00 feet; thence North 44° 26 'Jest 122.00 feet; thence North 55° 131 West 209.00 feet; thence North 29° 471 West 50.00 feet; thence North 9° 43 ' East 80.45 feet; thence North 32° 431 West 62.73 feet to the most Easterly corner of said Lot 83; thence North 37° West 84.31 feet along the Northeasterly line of said last mentioned lot to the boundary of the City of Azusa, as same existed on January 5, 1962; thence South 857. +1 feet along said boundary to the true point of beginning. -1- The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare that pursuant to Section 9207.16 of the Azusa Municipal Code, said territory is annexed to the City as and upon annexation shall become a part of the C-2, Restricted Commercial Zone. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
