AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE AZUSA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE PARK AND RECREATION
COMMISSION.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2321 of the Azusa Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 2321. MEMBERS.
The Park and Recreation Commission shall consist of five
members, each appointed for a three year term of office. Two members
shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation of the
City Council. Two members to be appointed by the Mayor, subject
to confirmation of the City Council, from persons recommended to
the City Council for appointment by the Governing Board of the
Azusa Unified School District. One member shall be selected by the
above four appointees.
All members of the Commission shall be appointed for a term
expiring on June 30th of the appropriate year and shall serve for
the term provided herein and until their successors are appointed. "
SECTION 2. Section 2322 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 2322. TERM OF OFFICE.
The original appointments shall be made as follows: one
member appointed by the Mayor subject to the confirmation of the
Council shall be appointed for a term of one year, the other member
appointed appointed by the Mayor subject to the confirmation of the
Council shall serve initially for a period of two years. Likewise,
those recommended by the Governing Board of the School District, one
shall serve for a period of one year and one for a period of two
years from the initial appointment . A member appointed by the four
other members shall serve initially for a period of three years.
Thereafter members appointed shall serve for three years. "
SECTION 3. Section 2324 of the Azusa Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 2324. ADVISORY MEMBERS.
In addition to the members of Commission, the City Council
shall appoint one member thereof as an advisory member of the Com-
mission. The Superintendent of the Azusa Unified School District
shall be an advisory member and one member of the Azusa Unified
School District Governing Board to be selected by said Board shall
be an advisory member. All members to serve at the pleasure of
the appointing power. Advisory members may participate in the
deliberations of the Commission but shall have no vote. "
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No . 672 was regularly introduced
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 1st day of May , 1961. That, thereafter, said ordinance
was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 15th day of May , 1961, by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Teasley, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None

I do further certify tOt I caused said Ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof
in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa, on the 22nd day
of May , 1961, and that the same was published in accordance
with law.
