ORDINANCE NO. 670
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING SECTION 3200.68 OF THE AZUSA
MUNICIPAL CODE REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ON
CERTAIN STREETS.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3200.68 of the Azusa Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 3200.68. SPEED LIMITS LOWERED ON CERTAIN STREETS.
It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering
and traffic investigation and survey that the speed permitted by
State law outside of business and residence districts as applicable
upon the following public streets within the incorporated limits
of the City is more than is reasonable or safe under the conditions
found to exist upon such streets, and it is hereby determined and
declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set
forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated,
when appropriate signs are erected giving notice thereof:
Name of Street or Declared Prima
Portion Affected Facie Speed Limit
Vincent Avenue between Gladstone Street
and Newburgh Street 40 miles per hour
Vernon Avenue between Eleventh Street
and Foothill Boulevard 30 miles per hour
Lark Ellen Avenue between the Southerly
City Limits and Gladstone Street 40 miles per hour. "
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
Passed and approved this 3rd day of April , 1961.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 670 was regularly introduced
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 20th day of March , 1961. That, thereafter, said ordinance
was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 3rd day of April , 1961, by the following vote, to-wit :
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Teasley, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None

I do further certify that I caused said ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof
in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa, on the 10th day
of April , 1961, and that the same was published in accordance with
law.
