ORDINANCE NO. 658
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATE) EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 39
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as
follows:
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of November, 1960, the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4105 giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Easterly
Annexation District No. 39, and said resolution describing the boundaries
of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of December, 1960, at the hour of
8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4105
for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did
hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did
determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of
the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last
equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half
of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa does
hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said
territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City
of Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as
follows:
Commencing at the centerline intersection of Pasadena
Avenue 80 feet wide and Foothill Boulevard 100 feet
wide (formerly called Centre Avenue) as shown on Map
of Azusa recorded in Miscellaneous Records Book 15,
Pages 93 to 96, in the office of the Los Angeles
County Recorder; thence easterly along the centerline
of said Foothill Boulevard and prolongation thereof
1,153.44 feet to the intersection of the southerly
prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 86 of Sub-
division No. 2 of the Azusa Land and Water Company, as
shown on Map recorded in Miscellaneous Records Book
43, Page 94, in the office of the Los Angeles County
Recorder, said intersection being in the boundary of
the City of Azusa, as same existed on September 19,
1960, said intersection also being the true point of
beginning; thence along the boundary of said City of
Azusa as follows:
Northerly along the Southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of said Lot 86, 50 feet to the inter-

section with the northerly right of way line of said
Foothill Boulevard said northerly right of way line
also being the southerly line of Lot 87 of said Sub-
division No. 2 of the Azusa Land and Water Company;
thence easterly along said northerly right of way
line of Foothill Boulevard to a line parallel to and
distant easterly 24.65 feet, measured at right angles
to the easterly line of Lot 86 of said Subdivision
No. 2 of the Azusa Land and Water Company; thence
northerly along said parallel line to its intersection
with the southerly right of way line of the Atchison,
Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad; thence leaving the boundary
of said City of Azusa in an easterly direction along the
southerly line of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Rail-
road and also being the northerly line of said Lot 87,
to its intersection with the easterly line of said
Lot 87; thence southerly 1,083.89 feet along the said
easterly line of Lot 87 and prolongation thereof to its
intersection with the easterly prolongation of the
centerline of said Foothill Boulevard; thence westerly
along said easterly prolongation of the centerline of
Foothill Boulevard to the true point of beginning.
The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare that pursuant
to Section 9207.7 of the Azusa Municipal Code, said territory is annex-
ed to the City as and upon annexation shall become a part of the C-3,
General Commercial Zone.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
law.

I, GEORGE CASWELL, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 658 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of theCity
Council on the 19th day of December , 1960. That, thereafter, said
ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 3rd day of January , 1961, by the following vote,
to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Teasley, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None

I do further certify that I caused said Ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
on the 9th day of January , 1961, and that the same was
published in accordance with law.
