ORDINANCE NO. 661
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGFJFS COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 40
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of January, 1961, the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 4125 giving notice
of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of
Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Easterly Annexation
District No. 40, and said resolution describing the boundaries of the
territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of February, 1961, at the hour of
8:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 4125
for hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did
hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did
determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of
the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last
equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half
of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by
said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the City of Azusa
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said
territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
That portion of the Rancho Azusa de Dalton, in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded by the
following described lines:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of
Citrus Avenue, as described in deed to the County of
Los Angeles, recorded as Document No. 988, on November
25, 1930, in book 10388, page 381, Official Records
of said county, with the most southerly line of the
parcel of land as described in deed to the State of
California, recorded asDocument No. 261,al onrFebruary
10, 1958, in book D7, page

said county; thence along said westerly line, South
0° 011 30" West to the northerly line of Tract No.
20495, as shown on map recorded in book 556, pages 39
et seq. of Maps, records of said county; thence along
said northerly line, North 89° 58' 30" West 1045.92 feet
to an angle point in the boundary of said tract; thence
along the easterly line of said tract and the northerly
prolongation thereof, North 0 00' 50" West 1143.23
feet to the southerly line of Fifth Street, (formerly
Alosta Avenue), as described in deed to the County of
Los Angeles recorded as Doc en24No. 3632, Records
19, 1956, in book 50094, page
of said county; thence along said southerly line,

North 89° 591 10" East to the intersection thereof
with the southwesterly line of the State Highway, 80
feet wide, as described in deed to the State of Cali-
fornia, recorded as Document No. 872, on June 29, 1933
in book 12230, page 230, Official Records of said
county; thence southeasterly, along said southwesterly
line, on a curve, concave to the northeast, having a
radius of 2290 feet, to the westerly line of the parcel
of land as described in said deed recorded in book D7,
page 79L1, Official Records of said county; thence
southerly, southeasterly and easterly along the westerly,
southwesterly and southerly lines of said parcel of land
to the point of beginning.
The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare that pursuant
to Section 9207 (c) of the Azusa Municipal Code, said territory is
annexed to the City as and upon annexation shall become a part of the
C-3, General Commercial Zone.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 661 was regularly introduced
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 20th day of February , 1961. That, thereafter, said ordinance
was duly iTcopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 27th day of February , 1961, by the following vote, to-wit :

in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation,
