The purpose of the adjourned meeting was to meet with the'Federal Officer connected with the Redevelopment Agency. -However, it was learned that the Represen- tative could not be at the meeting this evening due to.illness. At 7:55,P -M- Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order: Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, - Johnson, Romero, Memmesheimer Roll Call A,lso-Present: City Engineer and City Clerk -Admini- strative Officer Residents immediately adjacent to the Northside Park Protest of appeared before the Council relative to the Master Park Plan Plan which had been adopted for the Park. The prop- for Northaide erty owners appearing were: Mrs. A. Meier, Mr. and Park Mrs- P. Brecht, Mr- and Mrs. R. Pierce, and Mr. Ed. -Brands, all residents of North -Orange Avenue- It was requested by these people that additional land be granted as a buffer so as to save the trees that were,planted in the area at the rear of their prop- erties. A misunderstanding had shown up due to the placement of stakes whereby it appeared that paving is uld extend to within 5 feet of the property line. It was pointed out that these stakes were "off set" and that the paving would stop 12 feet from the -•property line at the northern most part and extend- ing to a Width of approximately 40 feet at the widest section opposite the Brecht property. It was further pointed out that this plan showing the 12 feet plus distance from the property linea was approved by the property owners and the Park and Recreation Commission at a meeting some months earlier. The plans as ap- proved by the Park and Recreation Commission would allow for the planting of shrubs, etc- in this 12 foot buffer strip by the City. It was the opinion of the Council that the plan as approved by the -Commission and the Council should be -followed. A request was received from the Division of Highways Div. of Hwye- for use of the Recreation Building on February 27th to hold public between the hours of 1:30 P -M. and 6:00 P.M. in order meeting re ,,to hold a public information zyeeting to explain the Freeway•(Fthl)yl proposed route of the Foothill Freeway. This meet- ing would be attended by interested parties from -all'areas through which the freeway is proposed to .extend* = It was moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Romero that the Division of Highways be granted permission to use the Recreation Building facilities February 27th between the hours of 1:30 P.M -'and 6:00 P.M- for the information meeting of the proposed Foothill Freeway. With no objeotions, motion ordered carried. The Council was informed that the Federal Officer Redevelopment who would appear in connection with the Redevelop- meeting 1-30-58 ment Agency hearing had set a tentative date of Jan..30th. The City Clerk was asked to notify the Council if the January 30th date was aoceptable or not. The meeting between the Council and the Committee Council and Off - of the Off-street Parking Project will meet Jan. Street Comm. 22nd at 7:30 P -M- in the Recreation Building. The meeting change in place and date is due to the conflict caused by the regular meeting of the City Planning Cbmmission,`in the Auditorium Members of the Library Board; Mr. Snyder, Mrs. Wheelehan, Mrs. Omen, and Mr. Ben -Parker, the CITY HALL AZIISA, CALIFORNIA THURSDAY, JANUARY 99 1958 Page 2 161 Architect, -appeared before the City Council to go Library plans over the -final Library plans. The Council was presented informed -that the plans had been sent to the County 'Plan Check Department and had not been returned as yet. It was agreed that the specifications and the plans, when they have been returned from Plan Check, would be presented to the City Council for approval. Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Adjournment Romero, that this meeting adjourn. With no objections, motion ordered,carried.
